SInce I haven’t updated my blog in ages, here’s some random facts about what’s been happening, what I’ve been thinking/ feeling/ doing, stuff, yada-yada.

1. Started my long term in paediatrics – I still don’t really know how I feel about kids -or their parents!- but I sure know how I feel about midwives.

2. I’ve learned how to open a hand held fan elegantly – like a kung fu master!! hahaha

3. I actually have a pretty decent cleavage..haha

4. Fringe is a fantastic show! I like to think I can be as cynical as Peter Bishop! He’s so cute though…like an angry teddy bear..haha

5. Been going out with the girls …been fun! But wasting money is not..grrr..but then you can never have too many sunglasses…or birkinstocks…or tops…or bags…hmmm

6. I am a snob  - I try not to but I’m not..I’m terrible!!

7. I need to start being more proactive with my running!

8. Reading Treasure Island  - everyone loves a treasure and pirate story “Yo-ho-ho and a bottle of rum!”

9. Feels slightly depressed that my friends -left and right!- are all getting married!!!!!

10. Gets freaked out by hills – not the show!

11. I’m planning to grow out my hair – I’ve been having short hair waayy to long.

12. Trying to clean my room is an almost impossible task..keyword: ALMOST..

13.  I like spending my off days doing nothing (read: watch tv, wax my legs, exfoliate my face..haha)

14. Hot wax is painful!!!

15. Will try to update blog more often…

Working nights haven’t really given me the chance to update my blog..plus there’s really nothing to write about.

So I’m currently in my second week day one of my running. It’s getting a bit harder but I will persevere. And of course I love going out of the house and actually doing something that does not involve money. I’m also in an extra good mood after I’ve ran – all those endorphins eh..I sleep better, I work better and I just love the cooling down walk as well. There’s something very private about just you and the road ..running..though I hope no one thinks I’m crazy for belting out “American Pie” as loud as I can..haha.

I’m using the ipod+nike run thing and it’s fabulous! Definitely motivates me even more now..I think I’m going to try running everyday instead of every other day and see how it makes me feel.

Things I’m obsessed with:

1. Watching Bones..hahaha.. I love it! When is ANYTHING going to happen between Booth and Bones???!!

2. Running

- starting is easy but maintaining is a different story..but the feeling I get post running is just fabulous! I always feel like bursting into a song after running – no matter how the weather is! If you saw someone jiggling with an iphone wearing a grey tracksuit and a peach top today, that would be me.. haha

3. The new Ipod Nano

- I want I want I want!!!! but do I need it?

4. The new Booker Prize winner Wolf Hall by Hilary Mantel

is thick as!! I bet you it will take me a long time before I finish reading it but hey, it is enjoyable. The problem is trying to find time to read it!!!

5.  Actually wearing all of my shoes !!

- I’m not just buying them nowadays but I’m actually wearing *gasp* them as well! I’m so proud of myself. After all, they are shoes…they have to  step the ground. Hah!

I’m feeling homesick suddenly…and I haven’t felt homesick since I was in med school. I reckon I’m PMS-ing

B’s Quarter Life Crisis Resolution:

1. Don’t stop running!!!

2. Cease eating rice, white bread *sob*, pasta, noodles and sugar

3. Drink lots of water

4. Eat A LOT of vegies

5. Eat lots of fish

6. Start another sport

7. Spend less money and ask myself “Do I really need this?” for items above $100

8. To donate or sell items that I don’t use/need

9. Save money

10. Be more positive in life!!!

Today was my 2nd day of running. I think I’m recovering better in between runs but I still felt like my knees are killing me during my 60 seconds of “running” (more like shuffling to me!)…I’m determined to run 5kms so I will keep on pushing myself and Robert Ullrey’s podcast helps a lot as well. It feels like you have a trainer with you pushing you to keep on running eventhough you feel like stopping..meaning, I don’t feel like cheating! After my first experience of running with a full stomach, today I learned to eat less before my run..funny thing is I don’t even feel hungry after my run! All I want to do is drink loads of water.

Anyway, need to push on!

I’ve taken up running..moi running is as ironic as a blue colored rabbit conducting melbourne philharmonic orchestra wearing a Hawaiian shirt but this time I’m determined to do it and will do it!

The program is called “couch to 5k”. Basically it’s a gradual program to make you feel comfortable and not burn you out while you slowly built resistance. It’s not about loosing weight but rather getting healthy.

So my first run was last night. I was so nervous! You warm up with 5 min walk, and then 8 cycles of 60 seconds run and 90 mins brisk walk and in the end 5 min cooling down. I was tempted to just run fr 30 secs but I did push myself and finished the whole thing. I don’t think my run was any faster than my walk but it did get better. The trick is -according to C25K forum- to continue this cycle until I feel comfortable n ready to run fr 2 mins n walk fr 1 min.

I’m determined to stick to this! I will run 5k one day!!

Views from the living room..

Brisbane was sunny! I came back to Melbourne last night and realised it was only one digit degrees down here..haha. But I do love the cold weather!

I’ve just installed Mac OS X Snow Leopard on to my broken laptop (sob!!!!!) and I’m not sure what to expect. Being computer illiterate, I’m sure it’s supposed to be fabulous and whatever changes I’ve seen, I like..anyway I’m hoping that my laptop can be fixed and will be cheap. If it’s going to cost me more than 600 dollars to fix, I’m totally going to get a new one. Hahahahha

But I do love my macbook air.

I’m sad!!!!!!
